BulkRegister Begins Selling New.net Domain Name Extensions

February 11th, 2003
By New.net Press Release

Partnership With Leading ICANN-Accredited Registrar Broadens Availability of Logical, Easy-to-Remember Extensions for Brand Protection and Marketing

www.new.net, a domain name registry offering more descriptive and useful domain name extensions, today announced an agreement with BulkRegister LLC ( www.bulkregister.com ), the third-largest accredited domain name registrar in the United States. Under the terms of this agreement, New.net's targeted domain names will be sold through BulkRegister to its customer base of 21,000 business members enabling them to offer the widest variety of naming options online today.

The new extensions for domain names offer business-specific customization and greater relevance than current traditional web site addresses ending in existing top-level domains. New.net domains more clearly promote the products or services that companies working with BulkRegister deliver. Through the use of targeted domain extensions such as .shop, .club, .travel, etc., website addresses will be able to provide more targeted messaging to potential customers.

"The addition of New.net's domain name extensions gives our customers a wider selection of meaningful naming options," says Thomas Cunningham, CEO of BulkRegister. "Our focus on brand management and protection provides business members with greater flexibility, value and increased access to all types of Internet naming solutions for proactive or defensive registrations."

"We've been working with BulkRegister for some time now to ensure the optimum user experience for their customers once New.net domain name extensions became available to them," says Dan Sheehy, President of New.net. "This represents the logical next step in brand protection strategy online, and we expect this partnership to greatly improve the entire Internet experience for end users."

New.net's system employs the industry standard technology known as Extensible Provisioning Protocol (EPP), allowing direct interface with New.net's registry platform. This enables BulkRegister, and in turn its customers, to quickly and easily access the most intuitive naming system available on the Internet today and protect and market their marks in unique ways.

"As competition for domain names and Internet mindshare increases, BulkRegister wants to ensure members can optimally position their businesses online, and this deal will assist in that effort," continued Cunningham. "Additionally, New.net's more intuitive domain names will make the Internet an easier place for users to find available products and services to fit their needs."

This deal represents the first time New.net domain names will be offered on a wholesale scale to U.S. Internet users through a registrar accredited by the Internet governing body ICANN. More than 175 million Internet users currently have access to these domain extensions either through partnerships with leading ISPs or they have enabled their browsers via a free download available at www.new.net .
